CLK 230K W208
Hi there i bought a CLK 230K W208 on sunday and today i bought myself some AMG 5 spoke Replica's

sizes are:
Rear 265/35R18
Front 245/40R18

the back alloys fit fine and the front alloys fit on the back aswell

but when i try to fit the front or back alloys on the front the wheel nuts tighten before the alloys have fitted on propperly so they just wobble about.

its very strange because the nuts are all the same size and i measured the insides of my new alloys and the front and back are the same size.

so why wont they fit on the front?

Im hopeing an expert on here might be able to help me

Thank you

yer thats what i was thinking, yes i am using the original studs. what size should i buy? thank you

Size can be tricky. You may be able to cut you studs down. You need to ensure that your studs are the correct fitment/taper for your wheel. Aftermarket wheels often use a different style of stud taper. Pop into a local wheel fitter they will tell you what is required and will either have the correct studs or help you get what you want. eBay has plenty once you know what you need.

What are the offsets of the wheels ?

the offset is 32 on the ebay add, i dont know about cutting the studs as they are only threaded at the end so if i cut of more thread they might be abit weak, i really want to avoid getting a tyre shop to sort it out as i have just forked out alot of money this week haha

thank you for your speedy replys by the way, please keep them coming

Sounds like your studs and wheel combo would have had spacers. You either need correct studs or spacers. Spacers are not cheap.

well when i offered the alloys up they fitted nicely without sticking out to much, if i put spacers on them they would stick out and i would be hitting curbs haha :P

what size studs do you think i should buy?

thanks

No idea about size. You need to ensure you have enough thread 20mm then enough stud to go through your wheel. Can't you how much you need to subtract from your current ones?

Standard bolts should have a 39mm shaft I think. Worth checking that they are correct to start with.

i supose i can fit the alloy on tomorrow and measure how much it is pulling away from the hub then ill know what size i need. do halfords sell studs or should i go to a motor factors?

thanks
