CLK radio upgrade

I have a 2008 CLK with factory fitted sat nav, my question is at the moment to change dash clock I have to use the radio settings. If I swap out for a newer radio will this stop the clock from working or resetting it?

Unsure but a friend who has upgraded his radio in a CLK 55 now disconnects his battery for 1 hour to reset his clock as he hasn't found another way yet to change it.

On the pre-facelift W209 the system needs to be reprogrammed using STAR to tell it the COMAND has been been removed. Otherwise it tries to set the clock from the RDS signal. Not sure if later ones are the same or not as the whole system works on a different set up. A phone call to commandonline.co.uk would clarify the issue. 01276 451579

Indeed, remove the navigation and the ability to change the date/time is lost. The cluster can be coded to enable the options to change it there.
