CLK Road speed tapping noise

So I've got this annoying road speed tapping noise. Its intermittent, doesnt occur at low or high speeds, is worse when left side is loaded (roundabouts etc). Its not the wheel bearing as I've changed it, its not a stone in the tyre.

Any ideas?

Rear foot brake cable has broken a plastic clip and is rubbing on the propshaft ?

That's what was wrong with mine.

The clips are available from MB bit strange to fit as they are basically tapped on to little pegs attached to the transmission tunnel. I have some spare in the bits box for when another one lets go.

Worth backing the clip up with a large zip tie as well .

That is actually an MB recommended way to fit them, I have the MB approved ties in the box.
