it's the drivers side one, it's not coming out. The SRS warning light is on. All was fine, then next time the door was shut...nothing....just the malfunction message and warning light.

I'm in East London, Limehouse and work in New Barnet although getting to any garage during the day is going to be hard as I'm a contractor. Also I'm not quite finannacially able to shell out lots as buying the car in the first place has stretched me.

Hmm...is there anything I can check? swap motors over and see if that's the problem? Fuses?

Any advice really appreciated. Thanks.

This needs hooking up to a STAR machine to find out what has actually broken (if anything).

Suggest you take it into your local dealer and ask them to tell you whats wrong and advise on how much it will cost to fix it. It could just be that it needs normalising with the seat although the SRS warning light doesnt sound too good!

Possibly the switch in the door A pillar stuck, or wire corroded/fallen off.

Or perhaps the sensor wire under the driver seat come adrift.

its going to be something like the seat belt latch or the seat pad sensor.. if something seat/srs related is not working then the presenter wont come forward...

That would figure as there was a lot of tilting the seats back and forth that day....hmm - think I might try to latch the seats a few times back and forth and look for dislodged wires.

if I fix that though I'm guessing the error won't clear though...?

Merc Care in New Barnet have said they can look at it on the computer....I'm not sure if they have the real deal there though so may need to take it just down the road to their main office in Brunswick.

How much(ish) should I be paying for them to hook it up and tell me what's broken please?

Hi I have the same fault, drivers seatbelt presenter will not deploy + SRS light on and 'SRS restraint service reqd' message on cluster.

Passenger side works OK and checked door switch and it still signals driver window to open and mirrors unfold.

Have checked wiring under the seat and the seat belt latch all look ok.

Suppose it is a visit to the stealer.
