2001 clk 430
hi all just goin back to a comment by mercmanc regarding the shorter wheel nuts needed for the spare wheel on a clk,i have staggered wheels on my 430 and the spare is a black gloss slimmer aluminium wheel.I know for a fact i dont have any extra nuts in the boot so looks like i need a set.Does anyone know the length and where to get them from i need them before the weekend so ebays out thanks

I have a 2000 320 CLK with 16" wheels, wider at back than front, and the glossy black spare went on fine on the rear with with usual bolts when I recently needed it.

Hi
As far as I,m aware you only need extra shorter bolts if the wheel is steel.
Have you checked in the tool roll? Thats where mine were on my C230k.
My AMG has the staggered wheels from factory and has an alloy as a spare allbeit a slimmer one, but the standard bolts fit it.

Yes, mine were in a blister pack within the centre of the wheel - only visible once the wheel was removed from the boot.

Definitley not got them it is an alloy though with 225/45/17 tyre on I'd like to check with mercedes but they'll probably try and sell me a set anyway only way I suppose il have to try it on thanks to all

If its a genuine MB alloy the bolts you have will be fine. The shorter ones are for the steel wheels only.

Who's mercmanc :dk::D

If you're in Manchester over the weekend then you're welcome to try mine

If the spare is alloy then your existing wheel bolts will be ok, just try your spare on a rear wheel with your existing nuts, and ensure it spins ok

Sorry benzmanc it is and thanks for the offer but I'm sorted with that problem thanks to all where would we be without this club!stood with empty pockets??
