CLK W209 Brake Upgrade

So, I have a CLK350 with the sport AMG pack with the AMG 4 pot front calipers and standard rear discs. For a car the weight of a CLK, although an improvement over the standard they still aren't great.

I managed to bag a complete set of front and rear SLK55 AMG calipers and discs 6pot front and 4pot rear (see pic).

Started on the rears first as the discs are pretty new. Removed the old disc and pads and caliper (only covered 500miles). Offered up the new 4pots to find the dust shield was in the way. A quick trim with the dremmel and a perfect fit.

Fronts fitted next, straight forward bolt on, no mods required

Couldn't fit the floating rotors as they need a skim, so currently the standard 345mm discs with 2.5mm titanium spacers between the bracket and caliper.

Clearance is fine and the disc sits central. will post pics the weekend. Once the floating rotors are skimmed, I will fit them .
