CLK W209 Brake Upgrade

Small pistons to the bottom leading edge so bleed nipple at the top as suspected.

The calipers do have 2 smaller pistons and too larger suggesting they may push out at different rates?

Different forces - not rates.
(Probably to compensate for the slight self-servoing which will be most keenly felt at the pad's trailing edge.

To me the bleed nipples should point upwards so the R171 nearside fits the clk near side. What was the upside down thinking anyone??

Seems you have this figured already but, can't see how they could be bled in situ with nips at the bottom.

One caliper now appears wrong so I don't have a correct pair. Research says staggered pistons are to even out pad pressure and wear. Some odd cars need the calipers bleeding off the hub but the R171 option looks best as it seems to take the narrower 28mm disc? Otherwise s class caliper very similar so could be used as a pair plus heavier 32mm disc.
