Can anyone tell me how to remove the front grill as I have purchased a facelift one, but after removing the 4 retaining bolts from the top can`t see how the bottom can be unclipped at the bottom of the grill, I have tried pulling in every direction but it just won`t budge.

Please help, Reggie

The grill has a lug each side at the top, once uncliped I think you pull the top forward and remove, the bottom just has lugs that locate on to the top of the bumper. BTW the central bridge piece that is bolted to the grill is a different length between the early type grill and the later one so you may need to change that as well!

Thanks for that info, now fitted looks great.

Hi,

I am looking for a front bumper centre mesh grille (AMG) for my CLK200 (A2098850053).

I drove into a steep driveway which bent the bumper from underneath and cracked the grill.

Also - will I need to buy clips for it separately?

Thanks for your help in advance!

Not necessary and very annoying to post the same thing in 6 threads Umer:fail

To answer your question, look on eBay for the mesh inserts. It's very expensive.

Sorry to resurrect and old thread

Has anyone got a p/n for the central bridge piece being referred too

Thanks

On my 2006 facelift, its A 209 889 00 90 Spacer Radiator Grill. Note 034 states 'Only valid for panel with 4 slats'.

The spacer for a 3 slat panel is A 209 888 00 90.

The spacer fastenings, 2x A 000 988 87 25 'treenail' at rear, 2x A 001 990 38 36 'bolt' at front are the same for both spacers.

Confused. shouldn't your clk have the 3 slat?

Oops, yes you are right, my facelift does have the 3 slat grille. The numbers are correct though, A 209 889 00 90 for 4 slats, A 209 888 00 90 for 3 slats.

Would have expected them to be the other way round as 3 slat came later.

Brilliant thanks so much. That is odd that the newer part is 888 and older 889 (confusing lol) and I wouldn't need any fastenings?
