CLK W209 quick flashing hazards and light on

Morning,

Fairly sure I know what the issue here is but wanted to check in with the experts.

Went into my garage today and my clk is sat there all locked up with the hazards flashing quickly and the interior light on. Despite being on trickle charger the batter my is low.

I’m fairly sure this is something to do with the alarm siren being faulty and or the battery within the siren dying.

Are my suspicions correct and if so is it an easy fix for my local Mercedes’ Indy?

If you reset the system, lock the car with the window open, wait 60 seconds and then open the door from the inside the alarm and siren should go off.
If no siren then that or wiring to it will be the fault.

Will probably be a fault code as well

Located behind the front passenger wheel arch liner, you will need a hex security bit and a replacement alarm. takes about 30mins to replace. and £120

Yup, that’s what I thought. Thanks killerhertz! Oddly it’s now behaving but I think I have a dodgy siren box. Will order a new one and get it replaced. Ta!
