Since I bought my CLK the inner window door rubbers have looked very odd, seem like cloth texture

no idea why I thought they were supposed to be black? Can anyone suggest what has happened this is on all 4 windows and doesn't look the best when using the pillarless feature haha

If they need replacing is anyone aware of the PN and the rough cost aswell as an estimate of labour?

Any help greatly appreciated,
Cheers

It just seems odd they feel almost cloth like haha although they defo are rubber underneath... not sure what coating is on them tho ...

Looks like the door card has not been installed correctly.

Hmm is that what the rubber looks like underneath, the is also a slight rattle coming from inside the left door when driving over bumps, which stops is window is opened a little... believe these are window runners?

Take a photo from the top with the window down. I'm sure it's the door card that isn't on properly, as it first slots onto that mdf type of material and then clips into sections on the door. I think the seal is attached to the card itself, so guessing the card has been taken off and then just clipped into place without being slotted onto the section that you can see.

It's definitely not right.

Will take a photo of it when I get back, it's affected both doors hmm maybe the last owners had the speakers upgraded? Hopefully at least haha

Will keep you updated, cheers

Has the car been tinted?

Some - not very professional tinting guys would wedge the door trim to get the film into the lower section of the window, the trims may have not been put back in place, or the door card isn't attached as it should be.

Your best bet is to take off the door card and check how it looks by refitting, as there is a section which usually sits on top of these mdf type holders (this could either be folded under the door card currently, or completely missing).

Was tinted when I bought it, horrible tint tho bubbling like hell on rear windscreen :(

Looks like it just was not put on properly, as mentioned it slots over that mdf section, I'd start by removing the and refitting the cards.

The textured bit isn't mdf, it feels like cloth on a rubber? Am I missing something here :p

See the back of the door card, this is what I think you can see.

Probably not mdf, but looks like it.

See this here… https://mbworld.org/forums/clk-clas...interior-panel-fix-window-rattling-noise.html

The inner window seal seems to be fixed to the top of the door, it doesn’t come off when the door card is removed, and it seems the door card “hangs” from a slot on the inner seal.
The seals appear to be missing in the OPs pictures.

Dec

Oh, this is becoming more and more complicated haha :wallbash:
