I know this is unusual, but is it possible to change the 18" rims on a W209 2005 CLK 320 (with sport option:- larger and perforated front brake discs) to standard 17" rims. ie; will the 17" rims fit over the brake discs?

This is for comfort and practicality....there are a lot of uneven roads near us!!

If you have 209 360mm rotor (disc) and 6 pot caliper you will not get a 17" rim to fit. 18" is the lowest you can go.

Thanks...thats what I thought....guess we will stick with the 18"....

I think that the CLK320 Sport may have the smaller discs. May be worth checking the diameter of the discs.

Yeah, I think they'll be the same discs as the C32 - (??) which runs 17" wheels.

Can someone else confirm ?
