We use the Merc ones - but then we've got ISOFIX fitted to both cars ;)

We use the MB ISO-fix seat too. Really is an excellent seat and fits well with the belt when used it in loan cars without ISO-fix. The seat fabric could be made of more hard-wearing material though - we get through one every 3 months under warranty!! "Bobbles" terribly at touch points. Not what you expect of a £300 seat!!

I hear it's just a Britax though, and you can pick up the same seat without the automatic airbag disabler (forget what it's called!!) for half the price. Never seen one though!!

BMW child seats look good - Alcantara with Williams logo!!

According to the Britax website fit-finder the 'Elite' car seat is the only one recommended for the rear of the W208 CLK. This is suitable for approx 9 mths to 6 years (9-25kg).

    Hope this helps.

    Adam.

PS: I don't think the W208 had ISOFIX mountings but will bow to superior knowledge on this point.

when i do the fit finder, it only gives me CLK to 2000, mine is a 2001. Is there much difference. I was told my CLK is a 209?

I'd be relieved not to spend £400 for the odd journey with my nephew, who's 1yr.

Should I be aware of rear airbags if applicable?

Yep sounds like they are showing you the seat for a 208 series.

I'd strongly suggest you visit a store like mumma's and papas so they can fit the correct seat for you. Don't forget that child seats are sized according to the weight of the child - not the age.

The 209 was available from October 2002 (according to Parkers), so yours is a 208. If your rear light clusters are like mine (see avatar), then it's a 208. All 208 rear seats are the same, so you can use "to 2000" for yours.
