Normally aspirated cars, ie those without a turbo are exspensive to tune given what you may get out of it. I think you would be lucky to see 20bhp with a remap, exhaust and air filter 1K ?
I looked at remapping my last car a 330ci bmw and I was told 14 bhp.
The other thing is would you notice it?
My advice would be to put up with what you have and next time look at a CLK320 maybe? The alternative would be to lower it and fit some nice alloys / good tyres and upgrade the brake pads. It will not go any quicker but will hug the roaad better and be more fun round bends...
Saying that I've asked DMS a quote on remapping my ML...
