hi iv a 230 kompressor and the drive pully (clutch type) is falling apart anyone know where i can get a new one (apart from main dealer) and also i notice that the slk ones are direct drive ( no clutch) on the pully can i fit one of them? and if so what differenc does it make.

Just guessing but if yours has an a electro mag clutch, fitting a non clutch one would certainly screw up the ecu wondering whats going on, the later one must have some sort of bypass valve for when there is no need for boost pressure, whereas youur must come in in at a certain rpm.

What about e bay? or can you strip yours and replace the bearing or whatevers worn?

last time it went into the main dealer, i asked them to look at it, as they must do a repair kit, but as you know what main dealers are like they wanted to fit a new kompressor.
the pully is very simular to the alternater pully on a sprinter, uses centrfugal forse , rather than the later electronic ones.

It's the same as the pulley on mine and there is an aftermarket replacement pulley you can buy but I think you have to ship it in from the USA I'm not aware of anything in the UK. Only reason I know is I bought my CLK with a Kompressor problem which turned out to be no more than a split piping issue but researched replacement kompressors and pulleys as my car also has the Brabus pulley upgrade. Will try and dig out the info for you but I'm not sure I kept anything.
