Its looking increasingly likely that I may need to get my instrument cluster repaired.

Completely dead inc speedo and revcounter, but car starts and drives, but no indicators or full beam.

Battery voltage at 12.7v after charge, up from 12.4v

I see one recommendation for Cartronix but any others to consider.

Do you need to download codes before removal if sending away?

Any tips on removal?

Thanks

Martin

I went to these guys for my Vito ... pretty sure they were used by Wheeler Dealers a number of times:

I booked a 'while you wait' repair where they removed the cluster, did the work, then re-fitted it. So I just had to drive there & back (they are just off the M25). In the event they were unable to fix it successfully (it was randomly 're-booting' while driving) but they were generally good to deal with and gave me a full refund without any quibbling so I would recommend them.

Had similar problem, I think the battery should have more than 12.7 volts.
Get the battery load tested.

Thanks for suggestions.

I was having a problem with the indicators not latching before the dash problem and had bought a new switch, so decided tofit on offchance the fault was connected.

Fitted the switch but instruments still dead, but indicators work on outside but no warning light.

Im fairly sure the battery is OK having done a heavy discharge test and charged/recon with a CTEK charger.

Cartronix at Waterloovile were helpful and quoted £175 inc vat plus postage or could do while I wait by appointment in about an hour (in about a week) and would charge an extra £40 to R&R

I spoke to Prestige Car Services at Horndean who were also helpful and quoted £180-200 inc.

They also offered a courtesy car at £10 per day inc insurance.

As there is another issue I wanted looked at, have made an appointment in 2 weeks time with PCS.

Now the indicators are working I am happy to drive and using a speedo app from DigiHUD that I have tried and gives numerous display options inc digital.

Used car yesterday and instruments started working again.

Has warning for SRS and ESP not working, probably when I removed fuses to check.

Its booked in on Weds, but now not sure they will be able to diagnose if working?

I have heard of others with similar experience.

Is there a way toclear the SRS and ESP without a tester, assuming it was a temporary fault?

Probably still worth getting plugged into STAR, especially by PCS who are excellent. Most (all?) fail codes will have been stored which of course will help with diagnosis

P.S. We have same CLK in same colour. That engine is a peach isn't it?
