I bought a Mercedes CLK320 Avantgarde Auto ST52 MKA vin: WDB2093652F019012 from a customer cheap which had a few problems almost all of which have been sorted.

It has had a new auto gear box and radiator, a common issue apparently.

It has a vibration which comes in when loading the engine a small amount.

I use the cruise a lot and if travelling at 30mph on a slight incline this vibration comes out as a deep noise that sounds like it is coming from the rear. it does happen at higher speeds but less often.

I have had an independent Merc garage, the Main dealer and another garage look at it to no avail.

Hi & Welcome, could be the wheel bearings or engine mounts as you say with a slight incline the noise gets deeper as the engine moves back putting more force against the drive shaft leeding to the rear wheels, Just a thougt but could be worth checking.

thank you for responding and apologies for my tardy answer back. Do I simply have to change some bits and see if anything works?
