Clk320 cdi egr delete

I have noticed a few tuners offer an egr delete with a tune for the om642 engine, my question is, if i do the egr delete and tune, is the egr disabled or does it require something mechanical like a blanking plate.

Would need a blanking plate i'm guessing as the egr valve has to be a physical attachment to the manifold.

If your egr is sound and solid (does not leak and is functioning) no need to. The program just prevents it opening. By blocking it just ensures that no leak is happening in any circumstances.

Some programmers can just reduce the usage of erg, so less dirt is fed to the intake but engine is warming up little faster.
