CLK 320 cdi
As some may know, i recently purchased a clk320 cdi, got it very cheap but it had a few problems, the main one being the inlet shut off motor.

i have removed the inlet flaps and the motor all together and the car is now back on the road.

i have attached some images of the car as it stands now.

modding will begin soon

Hi. The car stands well. What have you got planned for it?.

Sent from my GT-I9300 using MBClub UK

hi thanks,

it has a few bodywork issues, its got stone chips on the front bumper, a scuff on the passenger rear quarter and a dent in the driver rear quarter.

this will get repaired soon, but today the car is in to get tinted and all the chrome wrapped in gloss black.

mod list:

these are the mods i aim to do in the near future.

tints and chrome wrapped (doing today)
rear lights smoked (doing today)
grill changed to a single slat grill
twin exit exhaust pipe
repair all body work
Drls in the front bumper

thats it for now will create a thread in the projects section.

Your fuel economy will go down now you have removed the flaps

tbh a few people said that, but then a few specialist said it wont make a noticeable difference, and if i can be honest it seems im getting better economy

Better phone Mercedes and tell them to remove them from all there cars as they are not needed lol, they are obviously just there for the sake of it

with respect mate, most car manufactures install components that are for emissions sake and when removed actually improve the car, examples of which are egr and dpf. Im not an expert on the subject but i did drive the car before and after, and to me it seems like the economy has improved but i will confirm this on a longer trip

Read MB document which states it is used for improving fuel and air mixing, better combustion and reduce soot deposits in exhaust, which is the optimized buy CDI control unit for performance, so therefore better fuel and less smoke coming out of exhaust, least if the EML comes on again u know what is wrong. good luck

The motor has been bypassed, im actually going on what others have done here, and so far no complaints about it

i have attached images of the tints and rear lights smoked, i decided against the dechrome as i found it looked better with the chrome.

Windows look good, rear lights do not, imo.

I'm not a fan of smoked rear lights and never have been but then I can't stand lexarse rear lights either.

Are you de-chroming the strips? How?

i was going to get the chrome strips wrapped in gloss black, we did a test patch but i found it looked odd and kinda made the can less Mercedes like, so left them chrome.

as for the rear lights, tbh iv always liked smoked lights on black cars, but then again im only 23 so don't really represent the majority of Mercedes owners.

Keep the updates coming along mate :thumb:

yours is exactly the same as mine,
i also tinted my windows, i had some AMG style exhaust tips welded on.
bought amg wheels and a front splitter..

take a look:

im thinking of tinting the rear lights like you have but maybe a bit lighter..

Thats looking sweet mate, im going for a twin exit exhaust, but i want single ovals like the Audi rs4, not too fond of the quad amg pipes.

love those rims, these are the one going on mine.
