CLK320 Recall Notice - Harmonic Balancer ....

If it has a V6 or V8 and falls into the model years then it is certainly a suspect part.
Whether MB UK are recalling is another matter.

we have had to repair 2 cars v6 models due to this problem, and its expensive,it wrecks the whole front engine cover for the timing chains.
think the bill was just over a grand

Which cars do you have? How old and their mileage?

Got a 2000 CLK320 56k

I'm a merc tech so they were not mine, these were on c class estate and a saloon

Zercol - does this apply to a 2003 C220 CDI saloon at all?

I don't mean to hi-jack the thread but do you know anything about faulty battery starter motor recalls on the W203?

Flash

Mine is not even a CLK320 even, but the harmonic balancer look a bit shot, so changed it anyway

Any chance of getting the part number of this item for me?

Thanks,

Sl320 V6

Does anyone know if this problem would also apply to a 99 SL320 V6 and what should I look for?

Thanks!

The UNOFFICIAL* part numbers and location of the serial number

*i.e. nothing here is confirmed information and certainly there is no mention of UK cars incase some of you go rushing out to your dealer.

BTW, my part number just so happened to be the 'failure prone' A 112-035-00-00 so considering the visual state of it, and the fact it was the same number... I changed it!
