I was maybe, maybe, thinking of selling mine. What do you all think is a sensible price for it ??

It's a Black, W209, 79000 miles, COMAND, phone, parking sensors, heated seats, sunroof. It is genuinely in v.good condition, although no idea what its worth anymore ? Oh yeah and it is a 52 plate.

I was thinking around 11-12K, does this sound about right ?

Ben.

This is Glass's trade unadjusted, and I assumed elegance although not much difference

I think based on these prices, you would struggle to get 10k privately to be honest.

The market is dead at the moment, but you never know.

Not quite 11-12k then. Try your luck but be prepared to drop and keep dropping if you really need to sell.

I have a customer selling the same but with a few more miles on for 7k

Very cheap car.

Wisebuyers prices.

Retail: £11,429

Private Good: £10,069
Private Average: £8,989
Private Poor: £8,209
Part Exchange: £9,579
Trade: £9,190

Looks like Glass's is hammering it a bit.

Hmmm, probably worth just keeping hold then I guess! I really like the car and to be honest don't *need* to sell, so at those prices it would probably be a daft thing to do....

What do you reckon is going to happen to this used car market then - much further to fall ?? Based on the prices above, I am assuming that you will be able to get W208s and the like for 3K etc ???

Oh, one other thing. I have always got the car serviced at MB as I thought that it would be a positive when I came to sell it. I am now wondering if maybe it is probably time to seek a good Indy instead as I don't think the extra money spent at MB will ever be re-couped in the resales.

What do you think ? And if so, where is a good one Warrington/North West way ???

crystal ball time, IMHO i think things will continue to slide into the new year. My W208 is a 2000 with only 34k. Reckon is trade value is already dropped at 4k on this months glass's guide.

Re servicing not sure really. I'm in the same position. At this level i can't really seeing it making any difference to value re-sale time, just possibly easier to sell if you have a FMBSH.

I spent years looking for my CLK and know its a good one so i'm loathed to sell it for almost nothing. Will just keep it (which i'm sure many peolpe will start doing)

Yeah - this is the situation I am in. I think I will put it up for a price that I would be happy with and if it doesn't sell just keep it. I spent a while looking for mine too and eventually found a nice one with COMAND, obsidian black, one owner and full MBSH (which was exactly what I was after!) so I would prob be stupid to say take 6k for it....

Newish, used cars are cheaper than ever.

£2-3k should easily get you an early 208 CLK.

Will

I have a diesel for £12.5K so im afraid yours would be a lot less.
