Hi All

My car is making this annoying ticking noise from the rear drivers side, sounds like it's coming from the driveshaft area.
Sounds like something is lose and hitting the drive shaft.
The noise is only heard when parked up or driving very slowly.
When idle if engine is revved then ticking gets faster.
Had a good listen can definitely hear it from rear drivers side, any ideas what it could be, would prefer if simple i would tackle it myself or go to an indy if i had to

If you're parked-up it couldn't be drive-shaft related; it's not moving when you're stationary.

Any chance it's a failed exhaust hanger, and just the noise of the exhaust rattling against something. - Maybe exacerbated when it's cold and slowly expanding as it heats?

I can't say I've noticed anything like that on mine, but I do sometimes think I can hear a brake-related noise (like the parking brake doesn't quite disengage completely).

W203s and W209s often suffer from a broken clip that holds the handbrake cable in place. If the clip goes (its blue plastic) the handbrake cable slightly fouls the propshaft, giving the ticking noise.

Think you have to remove the heat shield above the propshaft to check it.
