Hello People
I have a very strange problem with my CLK430 W208 the boot lock works fine 10 times with any of the buttons (Boot centre And key) and then after 10 opens thats it then nothing all the other locks are good and work properly . If I disconnect the battery for 10 minutes and back to square 1 10 opens you know the drill. I am at my wits end with it I have fitted a new second hand pump compressor thing and checked the wiring best I can.
Thank you for your help and all the best
Marcus

If you are saying it also fails if you use the mechanical key then thats almost impossible to fathom out as there isnt a direct relation between the key and the pneumatic's.
I would suspect and air leak somewhere. When you replaced the PSE did you get it coded in as I am pretty sure you are supposed to?

hello and thanks for your quick answer
I have made sure the boot is unlocked
The PSE didn't need coding it just worked with no problems
The pump seem to work ok i can hear it making noises
what I do is press open it works fine do it again and fine number nine works fine and then Number 10 nothing clime in the boot disconnect the battery reconnect after 10 minutes and all fixed
and its doesn't matter if its 10 times in a row or 10 times over a month
and all the other door locks still work fine no problems its just the boot
Also the white bit of plastic that is used as the deadlock inside the lock mechanism i took out because that was my first thought
the micro switch works fine and has been replaced
Thanks
Marcus

Both EPC and WIS state that coding by the HHT (hand held tester) is required on replacing a PSE module.

I would guess if part numbers are the same and the replacement pump/module came from an identical car then omitting coding may work, but suspect if replacement came from another model then it would be required.

PS Working 10 times seems suspicious - maybe the software recognises a coding mismatch and allows 10 operations before ceasing operations.

Hello
And thank you for your answer
The problem is not with the PSE module as the reason i changed it was because of this problem and changing it didn't fix the problem and I never changed it back.
And as i said all the the other locks work fine, something i have never used it the back headrest button to see if that is affected the same way.
i have tested the pipe to the book lock as best i could using a manual pump and could not find any leaks.
What I might do is see if I can video it.
Thanks for your help

I have just had a look at the invoice for the pump and its a "A 210 800 26 48" if that makes any difference but it is the same as the old one.
I have been doing some reading and i am going to try and connect my delphi DS150e to the plug under the bonnet and see what happens.
how come I can never have an easy problem LOL.
All the best.

Hi, just had a look at mine, not sure if this will help though.
I parked up, took the key out of the IG and opened the boot. Like yours it operated exactly 10 times then I stopped hearing the air escape but the boot still unlocked every time. Went back two mins later and again the lock was operated 10 times and then the air stopped again, but still the lock worked when I pressed it in.

So, maybe you have a lazy pump that doesnt work too efficiently once the vacuum is exhausted?

Hello
I have changed the PSE module because I had this problem and it made no difference. But thinking about it for some reason the counter is not reseting I will have to try and find a wireing diagram for the locking system.
Thanks for your help

Thanks for all your help people what i have done is put a relay in line withe the fuse that cuts the power to the locking systen when the fuel pump is running and fay presto all fixed.
I spent £160 at Mercedes Specialist and they wanted to put in a brand new PSE module so I said forget it.
But thanks for your help people.
And all the best.

Hello Marcus.

Sorry for my bad english for the starts.

I've been struggling with this for 3 years now. What I did to open the trunk remotely is I switched the trunk vacuum hose into the "all other doors" port so when I press the unlock button on key fob once it would open the drivers door and second time the trunk would open. Ofc this led to opening and locking the passenger door only "manually". Your fix sounds pretty straight forward since my trunk opens somewhat 10 times and after disconnecting the vacuum pump connector and putting it back in works 10 times again.

Was wondering could you take a picture where u actually put the relay or somewhat guide throught it? And what kinda relay?

br,

Väinö
