Hi all.
What are the best general use front pads for my 2003 CLK500 AMG ?
Does the AMG have a different pad ?
EBC redstuff pads look like they will do the job but i'm a bit unsure which code is correct, I am looking at DP31363C, is this correct.
Cheers.

I personally stick to MB's own pads as they're what MB specify and so are good enough for little old me. That said Green/Red do seem well regarded by those who use them - supposedly less dust too.

It's unlikely that your car has different pads to a 'normal' CLK500*, but best check with the dealer to be sure. They can check the correct part number based upon your car's VIN number.

* Not that a 5 litre V8 could ever be considered 'normal'!!

Can recommend Red Stuff or OMP pro, both miles better stopping power and lest dust than the OEM pads.

No idea on code though sorry

Stick to your MB pads or you might get squeeking. Also redstuff pads are AWFUL when cold, but good once heated up.

If you use Green/Red instead of MB, do you need to tell the insurance co ?

Sorry to be pedantic, but there is no such car as a CLK500 AMG. I suspect you may well have a CLK500 with an AMG body kit and alloys fitted, but that means the car is mechanically still a CLK500. The AMG version of the CLK is the CLK55.

:)

I thought this but felt too picky to say it ;)

Don't worry guys, I thought the same when I bought it, but I was not up to speed with the specs but just loved the look of it.
The fact that it had been de-badged other than the AMG badge had me thinking but the pants dept won.
Cheers.
