Rob, I thought it might be that kind of money, my bid was only a half hearted attempt anyway! I still have faith that the blue CLK500 will come good!

As I said at the time, the CLK500 shows it's battle scars, and much of it can be corrected - the arch will require paint to make good though. Providing the noisey air con can be sorted, and you get it at the right price, then you could bag a lot of car, for relatively little money.

3 previous owners....seems a little high for a 5 year old car. I wonder if it's common to see these cars bought by people who can't afford them, then quickly sold on?

I think they have more in common with Ferraris/other exotica, bought as a toy/third car.....not used a lot then sold on...they then rack up more owners than the average mondeo....
