cls 350
Hello everyone,

Sure some of you would have looked at previous posts regarding the conductor plate and my annoyance at Mercedes.

Today have had my major service carried out for an excellent price and confirmed that the conductor plate is available separately.

For anyone with with the 722.9 7G transmission, this is a common fault and all a person has to do is hook it up to STAR and find out the EHS number.

I have been quoted £900 for new conductor plate, TCU adaptations, and gearbox service.

I wanted peoples opinions on this as have seen PCS do the gearbox service alone for only £200 or so, and the new plate would not be more than £350 so do feel this is quite a lot. It's a TRP part.

Thanks

V

My conductor plate was done 18 months ago (£515.00) at MB Oxford. That's some price increase in 18 months!

I'd go indy for something like that, PCS and olly are highly regarded ..shame I didn't live closer.

This is an Indy quote!! so I'm being ripped off

Wow, I can only assume as these cars are ageing indy imo give a better service to MB can pretty much pluck a figure out to keep your car on the road.

what exactly is it?? I have a cls with the 7g and not heard of the conductor plate?

It's one of these, sits in the bottom of the auto box

For the 722.6 they are around £225 from MB. I know they are common in the 722.6 but didn't realise they had the same problem in the 722.9

whats the lifespan on one??

Need to book mine in to PCS anyway for gearbox oil change but another thing to fear from the CLS lol :P

My car has just done 48k, I don't think miles mean much it could go at 10k or 150k.
