I've noticed a squeak or screech kind of noise lately whenever I accelerate so today I pulled in, put it in P and revved the engine and its coming after I rev, kind of like towards the end of the high revving.

I've recently had secondary cats deleted, x-pipe and resonator removal at ACID's, could it be something to do with that?

Its very irritating, like squeaky brakes.

Any ideas?

Thanks in advance!

I had something similar on a supercharged Nissan 350z. Sounds like it could be a loose belt.

Supercharger belt. Time for a new one

Search supercharger squeak / squeal as it could be this and is related to sc clutch. Can be fixed with a bit of graphite lube spray.

If your sc belt wasn't changed with the new pulley then it could be this. A worn tensioner won't help on a standard OEM belt, so I would recommend fitting a 1275mm Contitech or equivalent sized Gates belt. Smaller pulley = smaller belt theoretically, although if the tensioner is still operating efficiently then should be able to take up the slack. Hence not always a need to change the belt with an 83mm pulley.

Another quick check is to take the central silver cover off the top of the engine bay and check the front section that sits over the top of the supercharger pulley / belt. Check the underside to see if there is an accumulation of black belt dust, if there is then could be a sign of belt slip /wear / misalignment.

All common issues and very easily fixed.

The supercharger clutch does not engage when in P, so your revving a naturally aspirated engine at this point, so not the normal 55 chirp/screech from the charger, more likely a belt/pulley/tensioner.

Very good point.

yep, as above, most probably a pulley bearing on one of the idler pulleys.

Thanks for the replies guys. I'm going to see if I can get it into Phil at Staithes sometime next week. I'm not going to drive it in the mean-time as I don't want to damage anything further.
