CLS Rear Light issue/Problem

Happy new year to everyone!

Now, back to issue/problem. I noticed today, that my passenger side rear brake light does not work properly. It has, i think, 18 led's in it(9 in each row). Lower row ligths up only 3 led's, other 6 are not.

My q would be, is this an easy fix? If not, do i need to replace the hole unit or led bulb strip only? Any info is welcome.

These are high pressure leds (whatever that means) and officially cannot be repaired, the complete unit must be replaced.
A search may bring up a thread where someone repaired by soldering in new leds. Not for the faint hearted
