CLS starting problem

CLS 320 (2007)
Hi all
I've a 2007 CLS 320 that has very recently developed a starting problem. Occasionally, I can be sat in 'park' and wanting to start the ignition and all I get is ignition lights, no start. No alarm, no noticeable click, no turning over.

I have found that with the foot on the brake, I can select N (eutral) and the car will start as normal, behaving as it should after that.

I'm suspecting there's some switch at 'park' telling the immobiliser it's 'good to go', and it's becoming tempremental - or that's how it seems...

Has anyone else experienced this one??

Thanks in advance!! :confused::confused:

Might be worth checking the brake light switch, cheap part easily changed.

Could it really be something that simple, and seemingly unrelated? Would a brake light switch cause a no-start fault?

(thanks for response by the way) ;-)
