Hi. I wonder if someone could guide me in how to trace this issue please? I have only just realised that my boot does not lock with the doors (I thought it was unlocked by keyless go but trying it without the key on me has disproved that!). The boot latches fine, but it is stiff like I'm moving the electric boot closer motor (never worked in my ownership and on the to do list) and the handle works fine. Oh and the remote boot unlock button on the driver's door does not operate. Any logical steps i should follow to find the problem??? Many thanks!

Does it blink hazards normally when remote locking the car? If rapid flash or no flash, boot is not recognized as closed (even it is), and it may not try to lock it.

You are correct, when the car is locked and I open the boots the lights do not flash, indicating it does not know it is open or closed....

I am just investigating the wiring in the boot hinge. What on earth am I supposed to be looking for, there's no way I could find a break because it's wrapped in braid... Any ideas greatly appreciated as I'm in the middle of the job!

Stop press, I have used my noggin, and removed the shrouding and found several broken wires!

I have soldered the wires back together, and in a short time I will attach the battery and see what happens. But does anyone know what these clips are called and where to buy them? Because I mullered one or two taking them out 🤦😄

The motorised boot worked perfectly, twice, and now it's dead again 🤦. However the boot locks fine now so that's good

Working again... So cool having the auto close work. Thanks so much for your help mbclub members 👍👍👍

Ok car auto boot closure works like a charm. But the boot still isn't locking. If you open the boot without unlocking the car it opens and the indicators blink like the alarm has been set off (no alarm tho)... any ideas please?????

Just noticed that the manual lock has been drilled ffs🤦 Could it be that the lock is set in the permanently unlocked position? Pic attached. Cheers

The manual boot lock has no impact to the central locking.

Treat it like an override switch, with the correct key, it will pop open the boot lid whether the car is locked or not.

To work it, insert the key, turn the key 90 and then pull the black lever on the right, the boot lid will manually unlock.

Yep i understand it's just that mine has been drilled so there's just a hole where the key barrel was. No idea why
