Had a search through and couldn't find anything that seems to help!

Have a Parrot hands free that was retro fitted to the car at some point; seems to be a pretty well done install apart from running the screen cable behind the steering wheel and wedged against the A pillar!
Due to this, the cable has eventually broken and shorted - thought I'd fit a replacement and re-route to hide it in the ashtray.

I went looking (with the help of a glance over some guides, interior removal is nothing new to me) thinking it would be easy enough....

Removed the entire command console units thinking it would be behind there, sure enough through the small gaps once I pull out the matting, I can see the blue parrot control box but can't get to it from there (enough space to run the cable through to the ashtray but not enough to get at the unit in the first place). I tried the passenger foot well trim thinking easy access there - nope, ducting. Same on the drivers side too.

I checked a dash removal video which doesn't seem to provide the access either (and seems rather excessive for a hand free lol). Anyone any ideas how they got it in there? Only place I haven't tried yet is to remove the glove box itself but not sure if its another wasted effort.

Any tips or ideas are appreciated - I might be missing something simple :wallbash:

When I ran the cabling for a dashcam on mine - I had to get it to the mirror from the cigarette lighter the opposite side to the left hand side DAB wiring - I removed the panels under the glove box and the steering wheel to get access to feed the cable through. Don't know if that will give you access to the unit that you need but worth a try.

Thanks, pretty much where i got to by the sounds of it...gives just enough access to feed cables through gaps to the command console area, and as you describe that's how the existing power cable has been routed to the parrot via drivers side. :(

The parrot control unit seems to be in a cavity behind the centre dash console (in between the places either side that you point to to feed the cable). Get the feeling if it's not via glove box itself then it may be further things like the air ducts needing removed. Any previous car once I had the stereo out I had all the access behind it!
