Cls55 or c63 back boxes.

Hi all. I’m wanting to know what are the characteristics of the cls55 and c63 boxes when fitted to the E55k. I already have 2nd cats and resonator delete with X pipe. But still find it a little tame. Not after it being mega loud just want it more woofly / rumbly. Thanks. I’ve posted in the wanted section if anyone has anything. Thanks all.

I had a short test drive in an E55K with C63 back boxes. I didn't notice much when pottering about, but when the guy floored it, they made a big difference and sounded great.
I've since got a different E55 and haven't bothered fitting them myself, mainly as I couldn't find a handy source for them. I'd be concerned that they would be too loud on the motorway or other times when not "on it".
But then again, most of my miles are with passengers who wouldn't appreciate the extra noise!

c63 back boxes over the lot, as said already, pottering about you won't notice much difference but as soon as you put your foot down the sound is brilliant.

CLS55 boxes are almost the same as the E55 boxes, so don't bother with them.

Hi chaps hope you are well. Had the boxes fitted. Absolutely chuffed to bits. Absolutely beastly when on it. And musical when pottering about. Don’t need music! Only problem is have tendency to blip it more often to hear it sing. Which equates to even worse mpg . Love the sound on motorway too. Just eggs you on for more right foot..

How loud would you say it is on cold start? I'm looking for similar setup but not sure how loud it'll be wtih similar setup as smoothcoupe. I've got some not so friendly neighbours who have threatened to smash my car up if I make it loud again

I’ll post my cold start clip not overly obtrusive just sounds right to me, on the edge of the better side of menacing. Videos and recordings don’t really do it justice.

No problem. Alternatively there are some eismann E55 currently for sale on ebay. I have no idea how they would sound. Someone on here may be able to express the differences between the C63 and eismann set up.

Is it worth making further changes to make it even louder than it ia right now, given your neighbours threats. Regardless of whether they would follow through with those threats, the current set up must be having a detrimental effect on them in order for them to even threaten you in the first place.

It is a fair point you make Bobby. Its one of those ones where its desire over reality. I probably wont even go through with it at the moment. Its only the cold start that bothered them which is covered now with the valves though its a lot quieter now then in that short clip I made as at that time it was a decat (melted cats). Guess I gotta draw the line somewhere and im not after loudness anymore but rather the V8 rumble instead of the current drone

The drone may need to be removed by adding back a resonator.
