hi i have a 1994 c180 i have had a clutch judder for some time now only when i pull away in first could this be caused by a leaky crankshaft oil seal or is it just wear and tear and need a new one had a 190 a few years back and it to also did this both manuel gear boxes

Hi,
It could also be caused by a leaky clutch slave cylinder.
£37 from ECP, two 8mm bolts and a brake pipe to remove it.

It is more likely your dual mass flywheel imho.

Not cheap either. :(

Dual mass flywheel?:ban: Work of the devil...thought they only went on Fords?

Nope, they fitted them to manual Mercedes too. My 1990 W124 had one but it was still good at 200k miles.

They are supposed to prevent judder.....

not that you would get play in the clutch pedal replaced 190e clutch and solved problem but i got rid of it a few months after fitted so dont know if it started again

not a lot of help must be a comon fault on manual mercs as all the one's i have had have judderd been told to replace clutch but dont want to start forking out shed loads of money on maybees or might bees need to know if any one else has had this problem must be loads out there just need some one whoe's had the same problem
