I need help, I am now on my 3rd clutch master cylinder in the last 18 months, the piston rod keeps breaking, when the first one went the garage replaced it with one from euro car parts and 6 months later it went, this time we blamed the crap that euro car parts produce and put a genuine merceds one on and this has just gone this morning. What could possibly cause the piston to keep snapping? Is there something wrong with my clutch or have I just been unlucky? I could do with some suggestions before the garage that replaced the last one try and wriggle out of the warranty.

MB parts are warranted for 2 years so it should be replaced foc.
I would suspect a misalignment putting stress on the rod and causing it to break.

Thanks for your input, but how would it become misaligned? Is that a fault of the mechanic that fitted it or a fault with my car. I only ask because I'm pretty sure the guy will try to wriggle out of the warranty.
