vito van
Hello

I am new to this forum and i will try to explain the issue with my van as best i can.

I have a vito 108d van. 1997 reg. Its manual.

Today i started the van and not my foot on the clutch - to find that the clutch is all the way to the floor. I can pull it up and it stays up then when i press down it goes back down again.

I am not sure if its a clutch issue or the cable may have snapped etc on the clutch.

Does anyone have any ideas please??

Thanks

What's a clutch pedal??? ;)

Cable or return spring snapped

Clutch pedal is on the left hand side - brake pedal in the middle and accelerator on the right.

unless you have an automatic in case you wont have a clutch pedal...

Or if hydraulic see below, but...

Is this a wind up?

I think it's a hydraulic clutch on those, but not 100% sure. Check under the bonnet to see if there are two hydraulic reservoirs, one for the brakes, one for the clutch and then check the fluid level of both. If one of them doesn't have hydraulic fluid in it you need to contact a garage to get the fault rectified.
