Help needed please. I am driving a clk 270cdi on a 03 plate, yesterday when I took the car out I noticed it was a little difficult to get in gear then when I came to my motorway junction I pressed the clutch pedal and there it stayed. Last November I had a new master cylinder fitted so my initial thoughts are that that is ok. About a month ago I did notice a pool of fluid that seemed to come from the mud flap on the drivers side, I checked all the fluids and everything was ok and it has driven fine since, I really don't know if that has any relevance. It is obviously an hydraulic problem but I can't understand if it is a split pipe or broken seal why my resevoir is at the correct level! Any thoughts or ideas would be greatly appreciated.

Either the master cylinder or CSC are faulty.

Ok thanks for that, that was what I thought, is the slave cylinder on this car on the outside of the gear box?

Not sure, probably not.
