Morning guys,

Is there any way for the headlight switch off delay to be adjusted from the few seconds to say 20 or 30?

According to the manual, there should be a setting in the menus on the dash, but all i get is the option to turn it on or off and no way of adjusting the time, so i was wondering if this is a simple coding tweak that could be done by someone with the correct equipment?

I might approach a dealer to see if they can do it, but no doubt ill get the 'no sorry, cant be done'.

Id also like the option of having the outside temperature displayed on any screen rather than just on the mileage screen. I see in the manual there is an option to change this setting, but apparently thats not available for the uk, as it has to display the km/h readout.

You could try a coding firm. Everything can be changed. Note the km/h is called UK mode and can be removed. It is not needed and is Mercedes being over zealous with the interptreation of the rules (that actually say miles or kph must be displayed). In should be able to choose km/h instead of temp as per EU cars. Suspect if you call Richard and Command UK he can help (depending on where you are). If that doesn't work then consider a Think Diag Pro2. It does MB coding (I have one) and codes my W213 with no issues (including switching off UK mode and 2nd speedo)

When I had my multibeams retrofitted, the guy who did it, coded the blue welcome lights for 10 or 15 seconds, rather then the default of of 2 or 3, but this was done in Germany.

As the previous poster mentioned, I’m sure Richard will also be able to do this.

Thanks guys,

Just reading up on this, it seems Merc have recently locked down their modules and can only be coded by the 'proper' dealer diagnostic tools?

I recently found a Merc approved indy with the proper kit and he didn't seem phased about not being able to do it so i have booked in an hour with him on Thursday to see what he can do.

Actually the proper dealer tools are not good for any fancy coding modifications. You need a cracked factory development tool (SW) and skills or very detailed instructions.

Ah that makes sense, especially when you find there really isnt much info out there about coding etc, un like VAG.

Ok as an update, it does appear most of the electronics are locked so i am going to give Richard a shout to see if it is something he can do.

I did have the parking sensors volume turned up and switched to always active though, as the front ones only worked once they were in the red but now they beep from the start.

That pdc sounding from amber not just red sounds useful.

What was involved?

No i don't mate as they took it into the workshop, and whilst i was sat in the waiting room he popped his head around the door asking if i would like that mode activated as well as increasing the volume to 100% as they come factory set at 80 on the Vitos he said, with no user adjustment on the settings.
