Hi

I’ve a 2012 W204 and I’ve been so unhappy with ride quality , I want to change all springs and shocks plus shock cushions and would like Monroe but I’m being asked what colour dots on springs , I’ve had a clean up and a good look but can’t find any dots so I’m looking for a simple uncomplicated answer to what colour dots I need to order

It’s
2012
Not sport or adjustable
Just looking for the smoothest ride

Thanks in advance

Pete

You need to use EPC to determine the spring codes. It takes the VIN to include all the options on the car to get the original spring codes/colours
What makes you think Monroe will give a 'smoother' ride? If your car isn't running Sports suspension it will already have the softer spring/shocker setup.

Mercedes springs are colour coded with colour stripes for rating/length painted on the coils. A lack of colour codes may mean that the springs have already been replaced at some point with aftermarket which may also explain the unyielding ride
Here's a random example what to look for white/red/red

If you go to a Merc dealer and supply your VIN NO they will calculate the correct spring for you assuming you still have the original struts/shocks fitted? Its important that the compression/rebound shock characteristics match the spring rating fitted
