The driver’s seat on my W210 doesn't heat!

The dash button lights up but neither the seat pad nor back rest actually heat up. The diagnostic suggested 'lack of power'. Not surprisingly the only solution suggested by the garage was a new seat totaling £500 plus labour, this clearly isn’t overly appealing.

Does anybody know if I can get the elements replaced in my existing seats or indeed what the problem could be? I can't help but think its a little strange that both elements have failed simultaneously.

Suggestions greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Try the relays ..... it does seem a little strange that both have failed simutaneously ....

Where are you based ? was this quote from a MB Stealership or an indy ?

I thought this thread was about my ex & the mother of my children, then I remembered she was just cold everywhere.

I bow my head in respect for that incisive fault description. "Lack of power" - who'd have guessed?

5 minutes with a voltmeter will find out everything you need to know

Hello,

Have you check the connector under the seat ?
Because, since your switch lights up, that means that the relay is OK.

Regards,

Frenchy.

Thanks for the suggestions. For info, the diagnosis was done at PCS in Milton Keynes.
