Hi guys, when I start engine after a day or so, the auto gear box is dreadful, keeps moving the rev counter up & down a kind of slow start.... When it's warmed up however about 80c, the gears change smoothly..... Is there anything I should be looking at??? I have resorted to manual gear change 1-4 until enigne is warm..... Please, if anyone knows what I can do let me know!

Is the car new to you? All the auto boxes are clunky when cold. Abrupt changes and hold onto higher revs before changing. They all do this. However if this is something new or different then there might be a problem.

Sounds to me like the ATF needs changing. How many miles has the car done and do you know if the ATF has ever been changed?

Unless you know the ATF has been changed in the last 40,000 its certainly worth doing it regardless of how the box behaves.
