I still have a big box somewhere in my loft containing the Airfix kits I built as a youngster - that's what the vast majority of my pocket money went on.

I was out with my five year old son yesterday. Allowed to pick a cheap toy in Tesco he chose (to my surprise) a simple clip-together Revell "MiniKit" of a Tornado IDS, which we put together when we got home :thumb:
 
I thought that until I bought an MB then I realised the power of illusion is far greater than the power of engineering :D

The illusion is strong, but reality does seem to back up the myth a little.

My cars:

Vauxhaull Cavalier.. died at 100k miles due to dead engine electrics and bodywork... I think the only thing that worked was the windscreen!

Merc W124.. Sold at 210k miles as was only a 4 seater and we had a growing family.

Merc W210.. on 230k miles.. still running.

So far Merc 2, Vauxhall 0.

We have a Nissan too and so far that is playing nicely.. it's on less than 60k miles, but it's 13 years old and NO RUST.
