Good evening, newbie, first time posting. We have an EQA, its was parked in several car parks. At some point my wife noticed that somebody had bumped into the front of the car. But we don't know where or when. I did not setup Mercedes-Me app and hence obviously did not pay for the collision features. I need to know at what time the incident occurred. I spoke to Mercedes garage they said that only if I had the app setup and paid for the relevant features - would I be able to find out the time of the incident. Is this right. I was hoping that the car could just be plugged into Mercedes computer and they could give me a time stamp of when incident occurred. But they are saying computer says NO! Is this correct? Any help would be appreciated, that damage is going to run to £3K or £4k, kill our noclaims and put the premium up. Most of the places the car was at have cameras. Thanks J

Do you mean "Valet Protect" if so as far as I am aware it comes free for the first 3 Years, why on earth did you NOT Set up Mercedes Me?

Welcome.

I don't have a definitive answer, but I suggest that you look up a local independent specialist who has genuine MB STAR diagnostic computer and knows how to use it, and then ask them to connect it to the car and have a look around. You'll likely to get a better and cheaper result than going to the dealer.

As already mentioned just about all the remote services are free for the first 3 years.

I have a suspicion though that collision detect simply sends an alert to the Mercedes Me app, triggering a notification on your phone. I did have a (false) notification on mine once, but I can't see any history of it in there now.

@markjay 's suggestion above is worth a try though.

Do you mean "Valet Protect"

Collision detect is part of the standard alarm functionality, on our C Class anyway. Valet Protect sends you notifications if the car travels further than a specified distance from where you left it, or (optionally) when the engine is started or stopped.

Just had a close look at Mercedes Me and low and behold I have "Collision Detect" 😕😒😯
