colour code 189,L189,189U

Hi all,

I am a new member and this is my first post.

I need a few body parts for my w163 ml320.My cars colour code is 189.However, i can only find parts in L189 and 189U colour.
What is the difference ,if there is any?

I will appreciate any help or information .

Is the L and U a Genuine MB designation from a Genuine MB document?

It could be the difference between the finish on steel parts and the finish on plastic body panel parts, the plastic body parts often have retarders in the paint that give a slight matt affect rather than the full gloss for the steel parts.
