Colour coded wheels

What does everyone think of colour coded wheels ?

I only ask because for the last few months i have been toying with the idea of colour coding mine a gunmetal grey, like the new CL AMG ones.

I have a set of styling II reps , the rim would stay polished but the centre would be grey.

Just like these .... maybe the grey would be a bit lighter ....

Heres a piccy of my wheels to help visualise what it will look like ...

By the way the car is white so i think the grey will go quite well with it ..

So, lets have a saturday poll and see what everyone thinks...

On white, I don't think you've anything to lose at all But they need to be done well or they will look naff

i reckon go for it. just dont get them too dark and get the lip really well polished. also think it may look good if you get them done in a really dark chrome finish???

Personally, I would leave them well alone as the standard silver (kept clean) looks good and makes the car stand out.

Spend the money on the respray and interior. I think std colour on the wheels will look better. Why not ask the duck for a second opinion?

The duck flew the nest last week !! saw her yesterday with the other ducks being fed by people with bread !!

Sparkley wheels always set a car off (in the nicest possible way),

Coloured wheels IMHO do nothing for a car.It is a thin line between style and cr@p when using coloured wheels.


But what do i know? I had RED Minilight wheels with a polished rim on a silver Mk2 rally/sprint prepared Escort,with red wing mirrors,(of course) and a black roof. The day's of a miss spent youth.
