Been offered this unit at reasonably good price. As far as I know its non-canbus unit, does that meant that if I decide to upgrade steering wheel / cluster I won't be able to get info in the dash ?

You can hook up phone and TV tuner to a non-canbus COMAND, no problem.
The canbus adapter won't help with the cluster stuff, AFAIK - it just enables the Canbus unit to stop switching itself off automatically in a non-canbus car.
