COMAND and MP3's

I have a 2004 W203 with COMAND.
Does anyone know whether the unit can be tinkered with to play CD's with MP3 files?
I already use an external MP3 player, but it would be nice to have this facility in the unit itself.
And depending on the answer to the above question, can the unit then read from home burnt 4.7GB DVD disks?
To be able to play DVD disks with MP3 files would give weeks of music on just a dozen disks................

I dont think this is possible sadly. It is possible to get a CD changer that reads MP3 disks but i'm pretty sure the head unit wont read any DVD's except the navigation disk.
