CLC 350
Hi All.
does anyone know if there is any updates available for the system that is fitted to our CLC 350 (W203). I've downloaded and burned a disc from a link on a Mercedes webpage, but the car won't have it, even though its supposed to be for the W203. It shows the existing firmware and the newer version from the disc, but keeps reloading the older software.
any pointers would be most welcome.
Thanks in advance

I would ask and get from hear think latest is V19

I also have an NTG2

I knew it was very risky to mess about with my unit as it could kill it

I found loads of software out there, quite a bit of it miss labelled or not for NTG2, downloaded them all, I have Nero, clone cd virtual discs ect ect, I have blank Verbatim and Phillips DVDr ect, took me a while to sort out files ect, I tried burning, cloning ect ect. many different versions from many different sources

Now why I managed to get them to work in car they were just not quite right, some got hot, some took longer to load a few were a bit slow , on the face of it they appeared to work but they were just a bit off, some loaded the software correctly others did not. never had any of this with my MB disc

In the end as it was only a test and I only want to load and test new firmware , I deleted them all scrap disc and went back to my old gen MB disc

I def would not use a burned disc on a daily basis

As I said they appear to work fine at first, hence why so many on ebay, as you are already having issues I would bin your disc before you bin command unit

Hi Tezz
Sounds like you had a load of fun! I probably wasn't clear, the software I downloaded was a genuine MB download.
I suppose that probably doesn't make much diffrence in light of what you said.
I'll have a look at the catalog you attached thanks
regards
Paul

Genuine MB download that you burn to disc ?

Do you have a link to this Mercedes web site I would be curious to have a look.

Thanks

By sheer chance I'd not shut the page down. Here you go.

you may be able to make more sense of it, for what its worth I'm wondering if the updates are for the slightly later system

I did like there disclaimer

they look to be just the service update discs, inc on New map discs, I could not find a file that matched the updates I found for MY NTG2

I would still avoid messing with your unit until you sure what file you need.

Fair enough, I'll give that company a call next week, see what they have to say. Just a thought have you heard of anyone fitting one of the later units, or is that something to run away screaming from

when I loaded the later version of the update disc on my unit it worked ok with new map disc, if I put my old Version 6 map disc back in it reloaded the software that was on that disc unless I clicked don't load old software each time

When I had my B Class W245, that had command NTG2 which if memory serves never required firmware updates. However, it did an update when a new or latest version of the maps dvd was installed. How old is your maps disc? It may be that just needs renewing.

What year is your CLC? I believe the CLC got NTG2.5 (with Bluetooth, SD-Card
Slot, and maps on internal HDD) from around 2009.

The saloon/estate W/S203 were only in production until 2008 and never got the NTG2.5, only the CLC did.

Just making sure which version of COMAND you have.... i.e. you may have NTG2.5, and not NTG2? If so then firmware update needs to be done via STAR, not possible from CD or SD-Card etc.
