OK so it's not an MB but it IS proper Comand!

My Smart forfour has Comand fitted, it's the same DVD based version as in the A-class. For the last few weeks it has known where I am intermittantly but then last week it lost me totally, we (my workshop manager!) pulled the unit out on Fri, unplugged and re-plugged everything, nothing seemed loose but it was pulled into the workshop showing 0 sats and drove out with 7!

Went to Bristol today & it lost us again, flashed between - and 0 on the sat no part of the display.

Any ideas on what it could be doing & how to sort it?!

Cheers

Its the antenna. The '-' means it cant see the antenna at all (ie it has an open circuit). The '0' means it sees the antenna but no satellites. The fact it fluctuates between '-' and '0' means the antenna is faulty.

See you guys are great! We only have one customer (and mine obv!) with the comand fitted so I knew it would be quicker to ask than to get our guys to try & work it out!

Didn't get chance to look today, looks like there may be a chance to look on Thurs...
