Hi all, greetings from Oslo :)

I've mounted a comand unit in my w208, originally supplied with Audio 10 CD. The Radio/CD function as it should, and when I use my car-phone the music fades out and the display reads "communication active" or something similiar. When I press the TEL button though, it says TEL Error and "no phone connected", so I'm not able to control the phone via comand. My plan was to put the phone & cradle in the glovebox, but first I need to be able to control it from the comand unit.

I'm thinking there's some wires not in place, I've connected the A and B connectors, but I have nothing connected on the C1 and C2 connectors. Could it be the D2B wakeup connection (not connected, should be on connector C2 pin 10) ?

The related option codes from new on my car is:
317 mobile phone, fully integrated in centre console
328 antenna with splitter for net C car phone on left rear fender (s 124 on right rear fender) - short version
telephone card D1 Debitel

756 radio MB Audio 10 CD with vk and RDS

Any help will be greatly appreciated, my apologies if my english is not perfect :)

Yup, you need the fibre plugged in and the wakeup working on C2

I assume you have put the phone into the cradle also !!! (otherwise you get a similar message !!!)

Thank you for replying, any idea where I can find the D2B wakeup? And the fibre, it's not a part of the A or B connectors, it's a separate cable? Haven't seen it anywhere...was it plugged into the original audio 10 headunit? Or do I need to "find it" somewhere?

EDIT: The fibre, a separate cable, just me being...a first time comand installer, hehe...I haven't seen the fibre cable anywhere, but if it was plugged into the OEM headunit it should be there. (The OEM unit was removed by previous owner, so when I removed my stereo (Pioneer) it didn't have any fibre optics cable running to it obviously)

The wakeup is usually a pink wire which can be found on pin 4 of your C connector. The c connector should have at least three wires in it. Pin1, pin2 and pin4. There may be a pin5 and 6 if you have a Mercedes CD changer. You will need to convert the C connector to a C1/C2 with a loom adapter.

The Fibre cables are orange and delicate compared to the copper wiring.

I have assumed here your CLK is a facelifted W208. ie you have steering wheel controls on it.

Thanks, I'll double check the wiring tomorrow to see what I have connected, I do have the C1/C2 split adapter, but only with 3 wires or so connected. It's a april 99', so no steering wheel controls. I'll start digging in the dash for the fibre as well, hehe :)

So the car is a pre-facelift. In that case, depending on which comand unit you have you may need a CANBUS simulator as your car wont have CANBUS in it!

Correct, it is a pre-facelift. The Comand is part number 210 820 54 89. When I ordered it they said it was all I needed to get it to work. (the comand unit, gps-antenna, and a splitter to C1/C2, from original-navi.de). The CD/Radio part works fine, so I'm just getting gray hairs on how to control the phone. I'll look into the wiring diagrams on WIS later today :)

I've looked at the diagrams, as well as digging deep in behind the comand to look for the fibre cable. No joy, even though I'm pretty sure it was connected to the original Audio 10 unit. Next step is to look at the phone-module in the trunk, to see if it has the fibre going out of it, then it has to lead somewhere.
