Hi all

Just wondering if this has happened to anyone else?

We returned from 2500 miles in Europe in our 2000 w220 s430 lwb which was rudely interrupted connstantly by the need for jump leads ("cavetti" in Italian....!). Got back and took the car into Star Motors, Reading. Seemingly the Comand unit is drawing 2 amps with no key in the ignition, withdraw the disc and all is normal again. Interestingly, its a new set of discs, genuine ones too. Havent yet retro-tested the old one. So effectively we only put the disc in when its needed, a pain, but there you are. Not sure if its worth repairing as at the end of the day its a 2000my unit, and would probably prefer too look at whether the newer units fit, especially as the cdc is knackered so we want to explore installing an ipod/mp3 socket, and using the bootspace for a dvd changer instead. Is it possible to upgrade the Comand to a newer spec here you can use bluetooth/ipods etc?

Thanks all

You need to have the MY01 update applied to the comand unit. This is a common issue.
