COMAND failure

Nothing at all no phone or satnav or cd changer nothing just a blank screen. Get the initial screen, there's power, satnav disc spins and then screen goes off. There are also no lights on the unit when sidelights are switched on. No fuses blown and nothing else apparently wrong. The only difference being that yesterday it was driven all day switched off which it never is. Read on the forum to try disconnecting battery. Switching on and off ignition and starting engine with fuse out. About to try that but if any one has any other ideas all welcome.

Problem solved! Tried the above but none worked but a search online found another method. Take all relevant fuses out - Comand, phone, cd changer,and any thing else you can think of and leave for at least 15 minutes. Then switch ignition to position 1 and again wait for 15 seconds switch to 2 and switch on Comand and hey presto it bursts into life. What a relief been fiddling with it all morning. Online says it is a common problem so you would have thought that MB would have a troubleshooting section in the manual.
